MountainWings Note:
It's amazing how the simple is not so simple and the obvious is not so obvious.
Also, when you've been wrong nine times, you don't trust yourself anymore and even when truth is presented to you, because of past failures, you doubt the obvious
...you doubt you.
Don't let past failures convince you that you can't be right, that you can't do it, that success isn't destined for you.
We don't fail because we don't succeed,
we fail because we quit,
believing that we can't win.
Thank you for inviting MountainWings in your mailbox.
See you tomorrow.

I Appreciate You
MountainWings A MountainWings Moment
#10253 Wings Over The Mountains of Life
-------------------------------------------------
I Appreciate You
=================
I recently received an email from a friend. The email only contained three commonly used and familiar words, yet these three words from my friend had a different feel. This simple powerful phrase shook me. It was a MountainWings Moment.
"I appreciate you" is what the email read. I gazed at this short sentence and read it over and over again. I could feel the transforming, uplifting power of these three words.
I have been thanked countless times, which is always proper and in order when someone does something for you. It is simply showing gratitude or giving credit for something that you are
responsible for.
To appreciate means to recognize the significance, quality, or magnitude of. (Appreciate freedom) To be fully aware of or sensitive to; realize: (I appreciate your problems) To be thankful or show gratitude for: (I appreciate your help) To admire greatly; value To raise in value or price.
My friend was not appreciating me for something I did or said to or for him personally or professionally. He was not appreciating a particular problem that I had or appreciating my help on a matter.
I appreciate YOU is what the email read. That means I am appreciated, I am admired greatly, I am valued, and I am raised in value. He recognizes the significance, quality and magnitude of me, and who I am. He is thankful and shows gratitude for me.
As I absorbed the power of these three words and allowed them to penetrate and saturate my inner being, I considered whom the email was from. One of the many life lessons is to always consider the message and the source of messages that enter into your life constantly. Could this be just careless from the hip speaking? Did he have any idea how powerfully profound and life- changing this one short statement would be? Well, consider the source of the message.
The email was from a man who gives so much of himself, so much of his resources, his talents, and abilities to help and uplift others. He is not only my friend, he is also my Pastor of the local church, the Pastor of a worldwide church called Airjesus.com, and he is also the writer of MountainWings.com. He voluntarily receives no salary from the local church or the worldwide Internet outreach ministries in which he funded from his own resources. He is truly a Pastor in the true sense of The Word.
Yet, he says to me, "I appreciate you."
That also means YOU (The one reading this issue). Remember the definition of appreciate. You tend to invest in the things that you find value in, and he invests heavily in you and me. Our Heavenly Father also invests heavily in us.
Feel the power of "I APPRECIATE YOU." Tell someone or many, and mean it.
Dip into your rich resources and invest in them; whatever those resources may be.
Most of the MountainWings.com subscribers will never meet the founder, creator and writer of MountainWings. Yet, he sees value in you, me, and all people. Just click on any of the links and see for yourself.

I APPRECIATE YOU.

I APPRECIATE YOU! I appreciate your patience in waiting for new entries while I deal with my computer issues. I appreciate your open-mindedness while you read my ramblings of randomness. Drink, Steal, Swear, and Lie
============================
I met this guy while I was in Albuquerque, and he has a motto
he lives by every day. He said, "Listen carefully and live by
these four rules: Drink, Steal, Swear, and Lie."
I was shaking my head No! but he then told me to listen while
he explained his four rules. So here they are:
1. Drink from the everlasting cup every day.
2. Steal a moment to help someone who is in worse shape than
you are.
3. Swear that you will be a better person today than
yesterday.
4. And last, but not least, when you lie down at night
thank God you live in America and have freedom.
I am not as good as I should be, I am not as good as I could
be but THANK GOD I am better than I used to be!

VICTORY!
MountainWings A MountainWings Moment
#2030 Wings Over The Mountains of Life
------------------------------
Victory
========
Muscles strained and veins popped as a determined frown spread
across my face.
I put all of my manly strength forth.
The thing held fast, but I was determined that I would not be
beaten.
Taking a deep breath, I lunged forward again, bending down and
putting all of my 185 pounds behind it anew.
I trembled.
It trembled.
These are the times that vex a man's soul.
Manhood is at stake.
To fail now is the ultimate insult against all that is
masculine.
Not me.
Not now.
I would not fail.
"Yield! Yield! Yield!" I secretly thought, hoping that my
mental shout would somehow affect things.
I was almost outdone.
Almost out of energy, I felt both fatigue and pain set in.
With one last effort, I summoned all within me, calling upon
every last muscle cell, every ounce of willpower, the inner
strength that has carried countless men through such ordeals.
For all mankind I let a silent cry escape my lips in this last
all or nothing last attempt.
I felt it give!
Ever so slight I felt its unyielding hold loosen. I felt it
open slightly and then I knew I had it. I knew I had won.
There comes a surge of energy with the knowledge that you will
not fail, that manhood will be preserved.
I had felt it give!
Spurred by the newfound confidence, I continued my relentless
push.
With a loud "POP" it gave up, surrendering to the greater force.
I felt a sole drop of sweat travel down my left cheek.
That's OK, I had stood the test, met the challenge, and passed.
Exhausted but valiant, I leaned back in satisfaction.
I looked at my wife.
She could see eons of primordial testosterone powered chest
thumping in my eyes.
She was proud of her man.
With a smug look of confidence, I raised my hand with the
evidence of my victory firmly encased within my grip.
She took the evidence of my triumph quietly acquiescing to the
greater strength.
I leaned back again and smugly pondered the accomplishment.
To my shock she said, "One more time."
My left eyebrow raised slightly as I saw what my wife brought from
behind her back.
I shuddered anew but concealed my anxiety with a masquerade of
manly confidence.
I wondered silently,
"Why in the world do they make baby food jars so hard to open?"
For all the men that have had to open baby food jars in front of
their wives.
You understand.

Mountain Wings: Not Just Another Mother
MountainWings A MountainWings Moment
#2015 Wings Over The Mountains of Life
------------------------------
Not Just Another Mother
========================
A few months ago when I was picking up the children at school, another mother I knew well rushed up to me. Emily was fuming with indignation.
"Do you know what you and I are?" she demanded.
Before I could answer, and I didn't really have one handy, she blurted out the reason for her question.
It seemed she had just returned from renewing her driver's license at the County Clerk's office. Asked by the woman recorder to state her occupation, Emily had hesitated, uncertain how to classify herself.
"What I mean is," explained the recorder, "Do you have a job, or are you just a .....?"
"Of course I have a job," snapped Emily.
"I'm a mother."
"We don't list 'mother' as an occupation...'housewife' covers it," said the recorder emphatically.
I forgot all about her story until one day I found myself in the same situation, this time at our own Town Hall.
The Clerk was obviously a career woman, poised, efficient, and possessed of a high-sounding title like official Interrogator or Town Registrar.
"And what is your occupation?" she probed.
What made me say it, I don't know. The words simply popped out.
"I'm a Research Associate in the field of Child Development and Human Relations."
The clerk paused, ball-point pen frozen in midair, and looked up as though she had not heard right.
I repeated the title slowly, emphasizing the most significant words. Then I stared with wonder as my pompous pronouncement was written in bold, black ink on the official questionnaire.
"Might I ask," said the clerk with new interest, "just what you do in your field?"
Coolly, without any trace of fluster in my voice, I heard myself reply, "I have a continuing program of research (what mother doesn't) in the laboratory and in the field (normally I would have said indoors and out).
I'm working for my Masters (the whole darned family) and already have four credits (all daughters)."
"Of course, the job is one of the most demanding in the humanities (any mother care to disagree?) and I often work 14 hours a day (24 is more like it). But the job is more challenging than most run-of-the-mill careers and the rewards are in satisfaction rather than just money."
There was an increasing note of respect in the clerk's voice as she completed the form, stood up, and personally ushered me to the door.
As I drove into our driveway, buoyed up by my glamorous new career, I was greeted by my lab assistants - ages 13, 7, and 3.
Upstairs, I could hear our new experimental model (6 months) in the child-development program testing out a new vocal pattern.
I felt triumphant!
I had scored a beat on bureaucracy! I had gone on the official records as someone more distinguished and indispensable to mankind than "just another mother."
Motherhood...what a glorious career. Especially when there's a title on the door.
Send this to another Mother you know. Whether a stay-at-home Mom or a career Mom, we should all carry this title.

The T.I.R.E.D. Device
MountainWings A MountainWings Moment
#10134 Wings Over The Mountains of Life
------------------------------
The T.I.R.E.D. Device
======================
The seven-year-old and the four-year-old each held my hand (or rather I held on to them) as we walked down the mall.
I felt like a helicopter trying to get the blades spinning. They jerked, twirled, and pulled my arms as we walked.
After 30 minutes, I wondered, "Don't these kids ever get tired?"
I am an inventor. I have developed computer programs, music, electronic devices, cosmetics, health products, mechanical devices and other stuff in addition to writing MountainWings.
I have an idea and I want to run it by you to see if you would want one. It's always good to do market research before spending a lot of time developing something.
This is the idea:
A device that transfers your kid's excess energy to you.
It's called the "Transfer In Reverse Energy Device" or T.I.R.E.D. for short.
Whenever you feel a little drained and your kids have energy to spare, you would simply push the button labeled "T.I.R.E.D." and instantly (well maybe in ten seconds or so) you would get a big burst of energy and they would calm down.
Before I began working on T.I.R.E.D., I just wonder is there anyone besides me who needs such a machine and how much would you pay for it?
