the 20's are just WEIRD

So I introduced myself a while back and never made another post!! Got a little busy I guess, but I am here now!! YAY!

I am currently on break from school for thanksgiving, and have been thinking |usually not a good thing| about the weirdness of being 20.

I'm too old to be a crazy teen, but too young to be taken as a serious adult. I'm too old to keep having all of these crazy flings, but too young to be really be thinking about who I want to be with for the rest of my life.

It really is this weird in between. College is all about finding out who you are, what you want in life, and really getting out all those fuck ups before it is really going to mess your whole life up. |sorry don't normally curse, but I feel it just works better|.

I mean things like deciding to leave somebody for another person in college isn't as bad as when you decided to leave somebody you have a house with kids with or anything else really.

Relationships are just weird...I'm in college I shouldn't be tied down to somebody! I should be having fun! Yet I'm expected to have a family before I'm 30?? In case you didn't know I am studying psychology...which means I really am going to need a Ph.D.

So I have another 6 1/2 years of college, who really needs a family? Because trying to have a family while working on a masters seems a little much to me.

I have all these thoughts running through my head and I still have another 5 years before my quarter life crisis can happen! I guess it will just make me more interesting to read :D

How do you all handle tough spots in your life?

Thankfulness and Giving

Visit my fan page for all my blog sites and updates from them (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rockin-Ritas-Blogs/140294316015841)

As today is Thanksgiving Day in the United States,
today I'm blogging about Thankfulness and Giving.

5 things I'm thankful for
  1. friends- they are my whole world
  2. music- there is a song for everyone on just about any topic anyone could ever think of...need I say more?
  3. love- without love, life would be painful for everyone
  4. pain- yes I am thankful for pain. It reminds us that without pain there can be no love
  5. having what I have- I'm a very fortunate and like probably everyone else in this world (who doesn't live in poverty or in a violent town, city, etc.) I take it for granted sometimes. I'm am extremely grateful and thankful for it all- the good, the bad, and everything in-between. Life is about learning..it's about the journey. Life is like a roller coaster ride- there will always be twists and turns and ups and downs. It's how much fun you have that counts. You gotta try hard to do your best to enjoy it!
-What does it mean to be thankful?
-Why is it important to be thankful?
-What are some of the things you are the most thankful for?
-What does it mean to be giving?
-Is it important to be giving?
-Why is it important?
-What are some ways to give?
-How do you personally give?

I look forward to reading your responses! I would like to wish you all a very happy thanksgiving. May each one of us have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season and always!

The truth is in the journey...

I thought I'd kick off my first entry back from oblivion with some questions for you guys. What are some of your fondest holiday memories? Do you have any traditions that you do every year? What are they? What is your favorite thing to do this time of year? What is your absolute favorite thing(s) about the holiday season, thanksgiving, winter, etc.

It's been a long journey to come back to my beloved blogs. I've missed all you guys so much! I've been so busy! I'm quickly running out of my unemployment benefits and still have no job :( Been job searching and applying to a virtual ton of places. Hopefully I'll get something soon! Also been taking time to finally go through most of the emails in my main account. Hope all is well with everyone. Here's to posting as regularly as I can!

MountainWings Note:
It's amazing how the simple is not so simple and the obvious is not so obvious.

Also, when you've been wrong nine times, you don't trust yourself anymore and even when truth is presented to you, because of past failures, you doubt the obvious

...you doubt you.

Don't let past failures convince you that you can't be right, that you can't do it, that success isn't destined for you.

We don't fail because we don't succeed,
we fail because we quit,
believing that we can't win.

Thank you for inviting MountainWings in your mailbox.
See you tomorrow.
