idol news
DIRECT FROM ELLEN: A couple months ago, I let FOX and the "American Idol" producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn't leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on "Idol" and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.  Thursday July 29, 2010 at 10:33pm via The Ellen DeGeneres Show (FB post)

omg! this #AmericanIdol news/controversy is messed up. @KaraDioguardi & @TheEllenShow out! @JLo is new "permanent" judge. #SadNews4Idol  Friday July 30, 2010 at 8:30pm via Twitter

RT@BradPaisley "I think congress should have to confirm the next American Idol judges." I wholeheartedly second that! :)  Friday July 30, 2010 at 11:27pm via Twitter

Darkhuntress Tammy: that is gonna go to shit since simon isnt there in case fox didnt kno but he was the show!!!so all the judges they change up the ratings for that show is gonna SUCK Saturday July 31, 2010 at 12:09am via Facebook reply to "omg..."

Rockin Rita: it wasn't gonna be as high in ratings anyway without simon. firing kara and ellen wasnt the way to go. stupid move on the producers part  Saturday July 31, 2010 at 4:12pm via Facebook reply to "shit"

Darkhuntress Tammy ellen might have saved it....but Kara was just plain annoying  Saturday July 31, 2010 at 5:29pm via Facebook reply to "high ratings"

Rita Ann Mishkin keep in mind tho that after paula left people thought the show wouldn't go on after that year and it last a couple more. people tuned in more to see paula and simon banter than to watch the competition. Do you remember Brian Dunkelman? season 1 he and ryan hosted then he got fired cos they "decided to go in a different direction" kind alike now with the judging panel. nobody thought the show would last without him but it has.  Saturday July 31, 2010 at 5:38pm via Facebook reply to "ellen"
